9-Year-Old Boy Killed In Palmdale Crash On 14 Freeway

A 9-year-old boy was ejected from a vehicle and killed in a solo-vehicle Palmdale crash on the 14 Freeway Monday evening.

The crash incident was reported at about 10:50 p.m. Monday near Avenue N on the northbound 14 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

A motorist veered into the center divider, then tried to reenter the freeway at approximately 65 miles per hour, according to investigators.

The vehicle overturned after the driver lost control, went across all lanes of traffic, and hit a dirt embankment, according to CHP officials.

A 9-year-old boy, of California City, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to investigators.

The name of the victim is unknown pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The 56-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and a 28-year-old woman riding in the car had moderate injuries, according to the CHP.

A 1-year-old boy and a 1-month-old boy, both in the vehicle, also suffered minor injuries, investigators said.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered to be factors in the crash, according to CHP officials.

One Killed, One Hospitalized After Agua Dulce Crash On Sierra Highway

One person was killed and another was hospitalized after an Agua Ducle crash on Sierra Highway Wednesday morning. 

A vehicle crashed into a ditch at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday near the 12600 block of Sierra Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Traffic Management Center. 

Firefighters later responded to the solo-vehicle crash, according to Marvin Lim, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It came in as a (traffic collision) with persons trapped,” Lim said. 

One person was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital via ambulance, according to Lim. 

The second victim was pronounced dead on arrival, according to the spokesperson.

A helicopter was requested to the scene but was later canceled, according to Lim. 

The identity of the victim is unknown pending an examination and notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office. 

Officers with the CHP Antelope Valley Area Office are expected to remain on scene for an unknown duration, according to a dispatcher with the office. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

GoFundMe Created For 9-Year-Old Boy Killed In 14 Freeway Crash

The family of a 9-year-old boy killed in a 14 Freeway crash last week has created a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral costs. 

Isaiah Lammar Davis is described as a “sweet, loving, intelligent 9-year-old,” said Queenbri Love, a family member in the GoFundMe. 

“This is a devastating loss to our family,” Love wrote. “He was deeply loved and he will be deeply missed. We are raising money to cover funeral costs and any help is greatly appreciated. God Bless and thank you for your support.”

One Killed In Sun Valley Crash On 5 Freeway

One person was killed Saturday in a Sun Valley crash on the 5 Freeway.

The incident was reported just before noon Saturday on the southbound 5 Freeway near Sunland Boulevard, according to Margaret Stewart, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).

Upon arrival, firefighters reported one person trapped inside a vehicle, according to Stewart.

The vehicle crashed into a tree and overturned, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) logs.

“Sadly, the patient was determined dead on scene,” Stewart said.

One task force is expected to remain to assist CHP officers, the spokesperson added.

A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the No. 3 and 4 lanes as well as the Sunland Boulevard offramp to the southbound 5 Freeway for about one hour, according to the CHP.

The identity of the victim is unknown, pending an examination by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
